We’re hiring for a Full-Time Staff Therapist!

Ignite Counseling, PLLC is a trauma-focused private practice located in the Lincoln Park and Lakeview neighborhoods of Chicago.  We provide therapeutic services with a commitment to compassionate, relational, and authentic treatment in a culturally-sensitive and inclusive environment.  You can expect the majority of your caseload to comprise a diverse range of individual adults.  Ignite Counseling has a specialized focus in trauma along with the treatment of anxiety, depression, grief, relationship distress, family issues, identity struggles, and challenges with life transitions, and we approach all clients through a trauma-informed lens.

The practice is currently looking to hire a pre-licensed (LPC/AMFT) or licensed (LMFT/LCPC/LCSW) clinician to join our growing team.  Please note that we are unable to meet the Illinois requirements for LSW supervision hours due to supervisor holding an LCPC license.

Position Details:

Ignite Counseling is seeking a thoughtful, reliable, organized, and motivated individual interested in joining an intentionally small and close-knit counseling practice.  As a new clinician, you can expect to build a full-time caseload (24 clients seen per week) under the support and supervision of the practice owner.  Ignite strongly values its mentorship role for new clinicians and will provide weekly supervision while you work toward full licensure as well as further consultation, as needed.

We offer a continuing education stipend, paid time off and paid sick leave, health insurance with employer contribution, optional paid volunteer opportunities, and professional liability insurance.  We invest in clinicians’ marketing profiles, provide client referrals, coordinate/schedule client intakes, handle billing, insurance verifications, and insurance credentialing, host (optional) quarterly team outings, and have beautiful office spaces in Lincoln Park and Lakeview.  We want your focus to be on seeing your clients and developing your clinical skills, while we take care of the rest!

This is an employee status role. Competitive compensation is commensurate with level of experience and is based on fee-per-client with built-in bonus structure.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in the counseling field

  • Interest and experience in providing trauma-informed care, particularly with adults

  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule with 2 days remote and 2 days in-person. Schedule includes daytime and evening hours

  • Ability to formulate DSM 5 diagnoses, develop treatment plans and complete case notes within designated deadlines, meet caseload expectations, and correspond with colleagues and clients in a thoughtful and timely manner

  • Personal computer with camera

Please send your resume to Lauren Freier, LCPC at lauren@ignitecounseling.com.

Preferred but not required:  Include a cover letter or a short note explaining your interest area(s).
