Lauren Freier, LCPC
Lauren is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) who engages in collaborative treatment with children, teenagers, adults, couples, and families. In her style of genuine and empathic connection, Lauren actively engages clients in an insight-oriented therapeutic experience. Focusing on the power of choice, intentionality, and resilience, she helps clients access and trust their internal compass, creating a framework from which to build meaningful lives and foster fulfilling relationships. Lauren is also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy, a technique that can be effective in addressing traumatic experiences and distressing memories.
Lauren graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and earned a Master's degree from Pepperdine University, with honors, in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. In addition to her work in private practice settings, Lauren also has experience working in community-based mental health and non-profit settings, where she has facilitated school-based counseling groups, provided clinical supervision to master’s level students, and led workshops on the topic of authentic dating practices.
Lauren specializes in working with millenials who are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship distress, and life transitions. She provides a space to safely explore identity development, emotional attunement, vulnerable connection, and healthy communication. With a humanistic and strengths-based perspective, Lauren focuses on providing compassionate feedback and guidance to empower clients seeking greater balance, self-acceptance, and skills to manage external stressors and personal challenges.
